In the ever-evolving world of research and innovation, community engagement is a powerful force for transformation. We invite you to join our two workshops that delve deep into Community Engaged Research and Innovation (CERI) and Participatory Research, exploring their principles, philosophy, and the bedrock of trustworthiness.

Workshop 1: Community Engaged Research and Innovation (CERI) & Participatory Research Architecture: Values and Key Principles

The first workshop (17/11/2023) is a comprehensive exploration of participatory research, encompassing various forms and the core philosophy that underpins it. We’ll also delve into the architectural shift from traditional fact-based research to a framework that centers around community concerns. Throughout, we’ll emphasize the driving forces behind participatory research, which include translating knowledge into actionable solutions, pursuing social justice, and fostering self-determination.

We’ll unpack the six fundamental principles that guide participatory research, which include building trust, fostering active participation, facilitating collaboration, empowering communities, constructing and sharing knowledge, and igniting social change and innovation. Each principle will receive an in-depth examination to provide a thorough understanding of their importance and real-world applications.

Workshop 2: Boosting Community Engaged Research and Innovation (CERI) & Participatory Research Trustworthiness

In the workshop (1/12/2023), we’ll focus on how participatory research reimagines the traditional paradigms of research and data. Through the lens of storytelling, we’ll highlight the profound influence this approach has on how we perceive studies and data.

We’ll also delve into the ongoing struggle for scientific objectivity and the importance of maintaining methodological rigor to ensure the credibility and reliability of research findings. Trustworthiness, as a cornerstone of participatory research, will be examined as a crucial measure of research quality, alongside the identification of potential bias threats that can compromise it.

To equip you for your own research endeavors, we’ll provide six essential strategies to enhance the trustworthiness of your CERI research, empowering you to contribute to meaningful change with confidence.

These workshops offer a unique opportunity to engage with cutting-edge research methodologies, principles, and strategies. Whether you’re an experienced researcher or just beginning your research journey, these workshops will provide valuable insights and tools to elevate your work. Join us in exploring the power of participatory research and discover how it can pave the way for innovation, community engagement, and trustworthiness.

Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity! Stay tuned for updates on dates, registration, and more. We look forward to embarking on this enlightening journey with you.
