The YUFERING project contributes to fulfilling this mission of universities by working towards a socially responsible and connected European Research and Innovation (R&I) landscape. YUFERING was able to showcase their work at the European Researchers’ Night 2022 in different countries.

The work of our YUFE Alliance and YUFERING Project (Horizon2020) has been shared with over 3000 people. The European Researchers’ Night is a Europe-wide public event that takes place every year, on the last Friday of September, showing the diversity of science and its impact on citizens’ daily lives in fun and inspiring ways.

This year it was held in 25 countries. In Croatia, the Researchers’ Night was organized in five cities as a part of the Blue-connect project funded under the Horizon Europe programme, aimed to reconnect science with society by bringing research and researchers closer to the public, boosting public recognition of science and research education, and building trust and understanding of science and its impact on the blue society in the region. In Rijeka, 1.200 visitors had the opportunity to participate in numerous exciting experiments, interactive workshops, games, educational exhibitions, and lectures under the coordination of the University of Rijeka (UNIRI). YUFE projects were presented at the EU corner.

The YUFERING project was also attending the Researchers’ Night in Nicosia, Cyprus. The corner of the Research and Innovation Support Service of the University of Cyprus presented the work of EU-funded projects. Interactive games for children and young people were also organised, showcasing the value of science for solving the challenges of our society and how interesting it is to be a researcher!
