One-day Language Workshop on Academic Writing in English

Take your research writing the extra mile – acquire new editing skills and proofreading strategies to improve your paper’s style, cohesion, clarity and punctuation. This online workshop will provide you with input on how to better prepare your paper for publication or peer-review.

We will make use of digital materials, handouts and exercises. The online workshop will take place in a classroom environment and include interactive group activities that will augment the trainer’s input. This workshop requires active participation and active discussions.

In the second phase of the online workshop, you will be invited to take part in a one-on-one consultation with the trainer (ca. 30 minutes). This optional consultation usually takes place in the week following the workshop and offers you the chance to look more closely at your own writing from a linguistic perspective and get suggestions on how to continue the process of becoming a better proof-reader and writer.

You are most welcome – indeed encouraged – to bring along samples of your own academic writing in English. These need not be polished excerpts or whole texts; works in progress are just as welcome, and sometimes even better suited for trying out new strategies.
