Today the YUFE4 Postdocs (Y4P) program was officially launched during the YUFE Townhall meeting in Rijeka, Croatia!  The Call text and Guide for Applicants are now available on the new YUFE4Postdocs website. Both documents provide key information about the Y4P program and upcoming call for applications, which will open on the 1st March. YUFE4Postdocs is part of the Young Universities for the Future of Europe (YUFE) Alliance, bringing together nine young research-intensive universities. Supported by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, the Y4P project aims to attract and train future proof-researchers, building bridges between academia and society.

Upcoming calls
In January the YUFE universities announced two calls for postdoctoral research positions, open for all disciplines, under the overarching theme of ‘Urban opportunities and challenges’. The first call will be open from 1st March to 7th May 2023 and will focus on Sustainability and Digital Societies. The second call will be open from 1st October to 20th December 2023 and will focus on Citizens’ Well-being and European Identity.

In anticipation of the first call opening, the Call Text and Guide for Applicants should be read in conjunction as both documents contain detailed information about the Y4P program. In particular, the guide provides potential applicants with practical information on how to apply, and how their application will be assessed.

Interesting career opportunities
A maximum of 51 postdocs in various disciplines can be appointed across nine universities.  They will be offered 36-month appointments and attractive working conditions. Further benefits include personalised supervision, career guidance and a specialist training program focused on ‘Community-Engagement based Research and Innovation’. Ten city councils and six business organisations will contribute to training development.  The postdocs will freely define their project and carry out their research anchored in a YUFE host university of their choice. As ambassadors of YUFE’s research ecosystem, they will also foster research collaboration with a partner YUFE university.

Additionally, our new Y4P leaflet with key information for applicants, supervisors and co-supervisors can be accessed hereCheck our Y4P website on 1st March as the online application portal will be open and all application templates will be available. We look forward to receiving your application!
